LIGA NOS TEAM OF THE SEASON SO FAR

GK - BRUNO VARELA (VITORIA GUIMARAES)

This pick is quite unpopular,but the ex Benfica player has been massive for Guimarães this season. He saved his team quite some times and took them to 6th place with a game in-hand. He has 3.6 saves per 90, a 79% save success. He makes 19 successful passes per 90 with a pass success rate of 69%, 8.1 long balls per 90 (41% rate)

LB - NUNO MENDES (SPORTING)

When Acuna left Sporting, everyone thought Sporting would buy someone from that spot. Well they signed Antunes but was Nuno who started in the LWB spot. He is a very food balanced fullnack,either going forward or defending. He has 1 assist, makes 0.9 key passes per game, 1.3 crosses per game, 2.5 interceptions per game and 1.6 tackles per game.

LCB - COATES (SPORTING)

Coates is the reason why Sporting only suffered 9 goals. He is a rock at the back and he is the leader of the backline. His positioning is very good,and his numbers don't fall behind. he has 1.4 interceptions per game,1.2 tackles,2.8 clearances and a 72% aerial duel success.

RCB - PEPE (PORTO)

Pepe is one of the best examples of a longevity player. He is 37 years old,but he carries the Porto defense like Ramos to Real Madrid. Great on the air and his leadership makes Porto very good defensively. He averages 1.2 interceptions, 1.4 tackles,3.3 clearances per game and has a success rate of aerial duels of 63%

RB - PORRO (SPORTING)

Another Sporting defender to complete this defence. He makes an unbelievable duo with Nuno Mendes. He has determination and great attacking abilities. He has 3 goals and 1 assist in the league with 4 big chances created,1.4 key passes per game and 1.2 crosses. Defensively, he averages 1.4 tackles,1.4 interceptions and 0.9 clearances per game. He also has a 48% success rate on dribles.

CDM - PALHINHA (SPORTING)

Well,on paper, Palhinha plays as a CM but he translates to a more defensive minded midfielder when playing. After coming back from a 2 year loan at Braga, he made his name alongside former manager Ruben Amorim with who he thrived before. He has 1.3 interceptions, 3.6 tackles and 1.1 clearances per game. He also wins 8.9 duels per game

CM - SÉRGIO OLIVEIRA (PORTO)

The 2nd Porto player on this team and probably their best player. Oliveira is a box-to-box midfielder but he gives more to the team attackingly. Oliveira has 8 goals,mostly penalties, and 4 assists. He created 7 big chances, gave 1.9 key passes. He has a pass accuracy of 80%

CAM - RYAN GAULD (FARENSE)

Even though Farense is in last place Ryan Gauld is still having a fantastic season. The player who was once dubbed as the Scottish Messi is now performing at Farense. He has the third highest ranking (SofaScore) on Liga NOS behind Oliveira e Pote. He has 5 goals and 4 assists, averaging 2.1 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game with 7 big chances created.

LW - RICARDO HORTA

The 1st Braga player in this list is Ricardo Horta. The Portuguese LW has 6 goals and 2 assists. He is a huge piece of the Braga team that is 3rd on Liga NOS. He has 5 big chances created,1.6 key passes per 90. He is more effective as he doesn't like to dribble much as seen by his 0.8 dribbles per game.

ST - TAREMI (PORTO)

The Striker has been a huge signing as he is the best scorer of Porto only alongside Oliveira. He scored 8 goals and gave 3 assists. He only missed 3 big chances. He has a goal conversion rate of 24%. He also won 3 penalties but didn't take them.

RW - PEDRO GONÇALVES (SPORTING)

Also known as Pote, the Sporting winger is in my opinion the best player so far this season. He scored 14 goals ans 2 assists being the highest goal scorer of the league. He averages a goal every 91 minutes with his goal conversion rate being at 41%. None of his goals were penalties and he scored his goals with both his feet and with his head once
