LA LIGA TEAM OF THE SEASON SO FAR

GK - JAN OBLAK (ATLÉTICO MADRID)

Oblak is having an excellent season so far and he is definitely the best GK so far. He has the most PSxG (+5.2). He has been very consistent through his Madrid stay and he earns his N1 spot at this team.

LB - JORDI ALBA

Barcelona isn't having the best season, but Alba is having a very good season. His defensive performances aren't that good but his attacking performances make up to that. He is always in the top 20 in passing charts for the La Liga.

CB - JULES KOUNDÉ (SEVILLA)

Sevilla is again having a good season and Kounde again is performing at a high level. He is a very good in terms of play making abilities. In my opinion,the best play making CB in La Liga.

CB - YERAY (ATHELTIC BILBAO)

Yeray is more of a defensive CB. His reading of the game is amazing and he contributes a lot in the more advanced parts of the pitch with his tackles. He will make a wonderful pair with Kounde.

RB - JESUS NAVAS (SEVILLA)

Navas is very similar to Alba.Great on the attack,not the best on the defense but he has another LB to cover for him. He averages 0.20 xA per 90 and 2.15 Key Passes per 90. Defense sorted

LM - OYARZABAL (REAL SOCIEDAD)

Oyarzabal is a very complete winger. He is excellent in creativity and decent at shooting. He averages 0.25 xA per 90, has a +1.0 xG performance, 3.62 SCA per 90 and 0.80 GCA per 90

CM - KROOS (REAL MADRID)

Kroos has been performing very well in the midfield of Real Madrid. He averages o.32 xA per 90, the most by any midfielder in La Liga. His creativity has been world class this season but his defending isn't the best so far

CM - CASEMIRO (REAL MADRID)

Casemiro has been performing great defensively, he averages 2.05 tackles won per 90, 1.89 interceptions per 90 and 2.27 block per 90. He is one of the best CM defensively in the league.

RM - MESSI (BARCELONA)

Messi had a slow start to the season, but now he gained his form back and been playing like MSN Messi. He is carrying his team and with an early UCL exit he may leave his beloved club.

ST - LUIS SUAREZ (ATLÉTICO MADRID)

Luis Suarez was the best bargain in this transfer window. He came to bring the finishing. He has a xG performance of +6.4, the most by any player in the top 5 leagues. He is also the league top scorer with 16 goals.

ST - EN-NESYRI (SEVILLA)

Just like Messi, he had a slow start in the season but now he is banging in goals for Sevilla taking the ST spot from Luuk De Jong. He also has an impressive xG performance of +4.2
